Have you completed your required opioid prescribing training? Complete your training online at your own pace!
The Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2023 enacted a new 8-hour training requirement for all DEA registered practitioners on the treatment and management of patients with opioid or other substance use disorders, including dentists. This is called the Medication Access and Training Expansion (MATE) Act.
Starting from June 27, 2023, all registered practitioners will be required to check a box on their online DEA registration form, whether for initial registration or for renewing registration, affirming that they have completed this new training requirement and maintain their certificate of completion. This one-time training requirement will not be part of future registration renewals.
